My name is William J. Fritz, Catholic composer, educator, and founder of Cyprian Studios.
CyprianStudios.com is dedicated to the craft, discipline, and vocation of musical expression. It exists as both a studio for musical formation and instruction and as the home of my work as a Catholic composer.

Cyprian Studios offers private and small-group instruction rooted in tradition, craftsmanship, and imagination. Lessons are available in:

In addition to instrumental and vocal study, Cyprian Studios provides music theory and composition instruction designed to help students discover their own musical language—learning not only what to write or perform, but how to think musically.
Our focus is not merely technical proficiency, but the formation of musicians who can listen deeply, think creatively, and give authentic voice to what they have received. Instruction is tailored to each student, whether beginner or advanced.

William J. Fritz – Catholic Composer
​
I currently serve as Director of Music at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Costa Mesa, California, where my work centers on the sacred liturgy and the living tradition of the Church’s music.
​
Alongside my teaching and liturgical work, I compose sacred and concert music. This website is the place to explore current and past compositional projects, as well as to learn more about commissioning new works.

Composition, for me, is an act of listening—shaped by prayer, tradition, and the particular needs of performers and communities.
